Barnie - reading this reminded me that it was you who originally brought to my attention the Spectator's this week/news column, with that neutral description and quirky juxtaposition of the week's 'events'....and also the fact that I can't bring myself to buy the Spectator anymore, even though it's a good read, in case the person sitting opposite me on the train mistakes me for a Tory!
