This is one night I wish I was back in the States.
I woke up in some Dutch hotel at what seemed a random time in the middle of the night. I turned on the TV to see if Obama had been elected, and by some odd coincidence within a few minutes the polls had closed on the west coast and Obama was projected as the winner.
Wonderful and amazing.

We missed you guys on election night here in Chappaqua. We had a lot of people, many kids and two differently timed champagne toasts (some kids had to leave early and we couldn't risk them not getting to toast the new president...)
By the way, the night before the election, Ella and Will called into Philadelphia to remind people where their polling places would be for election day. When Obama won PA they were more than a little excited. A night I'll never forget and an espeically good one for the two of us who actually met on a political campaign...
And now, Arthur is on one of the transition teams!!!! How about you all come back for the inauguration?
And I'm quite sure you didn't mean there's only ONE night you missed being in the states...surely you must pine for us more than one night?!
